29/10/2003 PeterStar Justifies Tournament’s Name!
On the 26th of October a regular IX “International Tennis Tournament – 2003” came to the end in St. Petersburg. PeterStar became the official telecommunications partner of the tournament.
Gustavo Kuerten defeated in the final Sargis Sargasyan and became the winner of St.Petersburg Open-2003. For the Brazilian tennis player this victory was the nineteenth in his career and the second during this year. The thrice repeated champion Roland Garros – champion of the world in 2000 - entered his name in the history of St.Petersburg Open as well.
The Armenian tennis player Sargis Sargasyan, who succeeded in participating in the finals of the both Russian tournaments during one year, raffled off two main prizes from PeterStar – balls with the tennis players’ autographs.
PeterStar lived up to the expectations and gave many other surprises to the tournament’s guests. Internet terminals PeterStar had installed on the territory of SKK “Petersburgski” were in great demand. All comers were given an opportunity to take advantage of free Internet services, participate in a tennis quiz “From the first serving”, and win valuable prizes from the company.
PeterStar presented the tournament guests with another “discovery” that drew special attention – wireless high-speed (11 Mbps) Internet access under new Wi-Fi technology.
Participation in such an important event became a good sport tradition for PeterStar, which the company is going to maintain in the future.
