06/12/2004 PeterStar Provides Access to Up-To-Date Wi-Fi Technology to Every Participant of New Year’s Campaign
On the threshold of the New Year Holiday PeterStar announces the beginning of the campaign “Wi-Fi To Everyone”. All those who will connect to an Internet or data channel via PeterStar until December 31 will be granted by PeterStar on a free basis Wi-Fi equipment – the latest technology of wireless access to the local network and the Internet.
For that corporate customers the campaign is aimed at have to connect an Internet or data channel with a guaranteed capacity of 512 Kbps and higher.
Wi-Fi equipment provided by PeterStar is put on sale by the world manufacturer D-Link and makes it possible to support transmission rates of up to 22 Mbps within the radius of 100m. A Wi-Fi hot spot set consists of a base unit, manual and software.
For conducting the campaign “Wi-Fi To Everyone” the company has purchased several thousands of equipment sets. Moreover, the customers – participants of the campaign will be granted a PeterStar Wi-Fi card that gives them an opportunity of applying this technology at public Wi-Fi Internet hot spots rather than at their offices only.
PeterStar is part of the international Wi-Fi operator alliance and from July 2003 actively develops its program on arranging public Wi-Fi Internet hot spots. At present PeterStar serves approx. 15 Wi-Fi zones in Saint Petersburg, among which there are large hotels of the city, air terminals Pulkovo-1 and Pulkovo-2, cafes and leisure centers.
