+ PETERSTAR - Internet and Data Services - Connection to MSK-SPB-IX

Specificity of the PeterStar network makes it possible to organize high-speed digital dedicated channels with fiber cable being installed up to the subscriber’s (2 MBps – 2.4 Gbps trunks), as well as channels at a lower data speed (19.2 Kbps – 2 Mbps) arranged, at customer’s request, over copper or fiber-optics cable.

21/02/2002 Connection to MSK-SPB-IX

PeterStar is already in Moscow. Now the path to Russian Internet resources is shorter, and hence the Internet access and data exchange rate has increased. On 22 January 2002 PeterStar connected to the traffic exchange point in Moscow (MSK-SPB-IХ). This happened due to the company participating in a joint project organized by RosNIIROS (Russian Research Institute of Public Networks Development) and ZAO Rascom. The project covers the integration of the Moscow and St. Petersburg Internet Exchanges networks (MSK-SPB-IX). PeterStar Internet node connection to MSK-SPB-IX will allow the company to render its customers higher-quality access to Russian Internet resources. The connection is implemented on the Route Server MSK-IX in Moscow via a 1 Gbps channel of ZAO Rascom. Now the PeterStar customers are able to directly exchange information with the customers of the companies – participants of the traffic exchange point (MSK-IX), bypassing external channels of communication operators.
