LRE (Long Reach Ethernet) Technology
LRE technology can be conventionally considered as ADSL and SDSL technology
simultaneously. LRE technology allows the organization of a symmetric data
rate (SDSL) while retaining analog telephone communication. By using LRE technology
a subscriber is able to get an access rate of up to 3 Mbps. The length of a
wire this technology can be installed on makes 1,000 m.

Basic channel characteristics:
- Channel organization – by copper;
- Total capacity per node is up to 100 Mbps in case of connecting by fiber
cable and up to 1948 Kbps in case of connecting the node by copper;
- Maximal number of customers – 24;
- Subscriber terminal’s capacity - from 16 Kbps up to 10 Mbps;
- Data transmission protocol – IP only;
- Maximum distance to a subscriber line – 1 km;
- Interface of the subscriber side - Ethernet 10Base-T and an analog telephone
channel.
