HPNA

Home PNA technology was initially aimed at combining home and small office PC’s into a local area network. Home PNA possesses a number of unique advantages. It makes possible to work at speeds of up to 10 Mbps at a distance of up to 500 m with a random environment topology.

Basic channel characteristics:

• Channel organization - copper;
• Node’s total capacity - up to 3 Mbps in case of the node connected by copper pair via an ADSL router;
• Customer terminal capacity – 16 Kbps to 10 Mbps;
• Data transmission protocol used – IP only;
• Maximum subscriber line distance – up to 0.5 km;
• Interface on the subscriber side – a telephone line; the customer’s
• Interface on the subscriber side – a telephone line; the customer’s adapter is connected via RJ-11.
