Dedicated Channel Internet Access
Dedicated channel Internet access represents a connection over a dedicated
channel organized based on advanced access technology (ADSL, EoF, RDSL, WBA,
and other). We apply the most up-to-date technology and transmission system
equipment to ensure the highest quality of access, high data speed and stability.
Capacity of external Internet channels exceeds 350 Mbps, providing the maximum
access speed to Russian and international Internet resources. Participation
in the traffic exchange points SPB-IX and MSK-IX allows the company to get
access to Russian Internet resources without agents and at the highest speed.
Dedicated channels from PeterStar – that is:
- Connection speed from 64 Kbps up to 100 Mbps
- Non-busy telephone lines when working in the Internet
- Permanent connection with no need to get on the telephone; a possibility
of simultaneously working in the Internet for all employees of an office
- Quick access and no wait when working in the Internet (Web pages are downloaded
practically instantly; dealing with multimedia applications accessible via
the Internet)
- Guaranteed access speed regardless of the quality of telephone lines and
exchanges
- Only consumed traffic (volume of information transmitted) is paid rather
than the connection duration
- Simplicity of organization – connection is carried out within the minimum
term
We offer a wide range of services and technologies for dedicated channel Internet
access and various solution options. You are able to select the PeterStar services
in accordance with your needs:
Important! The dedicated channels are built on the Transport Fiber-Optics
Network being PeterStar’s property. It is based on the fiber-optics cable network
over 1000 km in length, covering most of the city territory. Besides, in 2003
the IP Backbone was put into operation. Within the network core data is transmitted
at a speed of 2.4 Gbps, and the time to switch over to a reserve route makes
not more than 50 ms (comparable with SDH networks) to ensure uninterrupted
operation of any segment and the network as a whole. The IP Backbone implemented
allows combining companies’ local area networks, as well as accessing the Internet
at a speed of 100 Mbps (this speed is equal to that on LAN).
