Recommendations on Internet News Program Settings
Start the program “Internet News”. In the menu “News” go to the item “Parameters…”. The news setting window will appear.
In the window “Parameters” go to the bookmark “Server” and fill in the following lines:
- In the line “Name” specify your name. This is exactly what will be shown in your messages.
- If necessary, fill in the line “Organization:”.
- In the line “E-mail:” specify the e-mail address you created at the registration.
- The same should be specified in the line “Reply Address:”. If a person received your message presses the button “Reply to Sender”, the letter will be forwarded to the address specified in this line.
Let’s go the section “News Servers”. If you have already used other servers to get news, they will be on this list. Now you need to add the PeterStar news server. For that press the button “Add”.
In the window “News Server Properties” go to the bookmark “Common”. In the line “News Server:” specify news.peterstar.ru. All other positions should be left as default. Do not tick off “News Server Login Required”!
Close all setting windows by pressing the button “OK”. You will be prompted the downloading of the news groups available on our server. This process is rather long but it should be run once. Having subscripted for the news groups you are interested in, only these news groups will be downloaded later on.
Your Internet News is set and ready for operation.
