Login and Password, E-Mail, Antiviral Protection
Vast opportunities are fraught with the Internet world for inquiring and curious
mind. However, not everyone scents the risks one could run when being on a
virtual trip. Therefore it is very important to know and go observing simple
security requirements aimed at reducing to the minimum, or at least considerably
decreasing, the danger of destructive impact on not only a PC itself with all
information resources stored in it but on the purse of its owner as well. In
other words, help yourself on your own!
Your Login and Password
When entering into an agreement with a Provider or getting registered on the
Provider server you are assigned a login and password. These login and password
are your personal identification data to be used for Internet access. It’s
responsibility of the user to keep secure this data. To prevent your login
and password from being used by third parties do not write them down in places
easy of approach by strangers (the rear of the keyboard, a sticker on the monitor
etc.). It is also not recommended to save them in your PC at the moment of
being connected to your provider (in the connection window the tick “Save Password”
should be removed)
When being connected to the Internet for the first time under your identification
data, you should change your password on the page Subscriber
personal statistics. Later on you should change your password at least
one a month. Or as soon as you suspect that your password has been stolen.
E-mail
Be attentive to the letters coming, especially those from unknown senders.
Most often various harmful programs are distributed exactly by e-mail. Therefore
do not try to run all files enclosed in an e-mail message and carry out the
expected actions (visit a certain site, install a new program or update the
existing one etc.). It’s advisable to delete such letters. To reduce the number
of unnecessary letters in your mailbox, lessen the number of various Internet
sites you leave your e-mail address on.
Antiviral Protection
We recommend installing antiviral software on your PC. And do not forget to
update on a regular basis the antiviral bases for these programs. This will
help you to avoid unpleasant consequences (theft of confidential information,
operating system failure, PC breakage etc.) arising after your PC was infected
with different viruses.
