PeterStar renders assistance to cultural, sport and charity events of the city and world standards.
The Company furnished communication services during the visits of the Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II, the King of Norway, the US Presidents Bill Clinton and Jorge Bush, as well as for conducting the joint meeting of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly Council, Petersburg Economic Forum and many international competitions such as the tennis tournament “St. Petersburg Open”, Goodwill Games, Devis Cup Match, World Ice-Hockey Championship and European Gymnastics Cup. The Company is the organizer of motor rally of the same name and the general sponsor of the rally team – participant of the Championship of Russia.
Participation in the federal program on preparing for the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the city became one of the priority projects for the Company. ZAO PeterStar acted as fixed communication operator and provided communication sites for the CIS and Russia-European Union Summits. Within the scope of preparing the district for the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg the Company invested funds in redeveloping Lines 16 and 17 in Vassilievski Island.
The Company launched a program ”The City of Worldwide Internet” on arranging public Internet access points at airports, in hotels, cafes. This program is also directed to members of delegations arriving at Pulkovo, as well as schoolchildren, students and ordinary townspeople. Access is organized using the latest Wi-Fi wireless access technology or via touch-screen terminals.
Urgent and socially important project of PeterStar within the scope of preparing the city for the 300th anniversary was the liquidation of a telephone queue among the residential subscribers of Vassilievski Island. The Company renders communication services to the residents of Vassilievski Island under the fixed city tariffs from 1997. At present the Company serves approx. 40 thousand telephone lines in Vassilievski Island.
