2003: Construction of the Wireless Broadband Access (WBA) System based on Ericsson equipment

2001: PeterStar's own Internet node launched.

1997: Started modernization of the city telephone network on Vasilevsky Island. Switched 30,000 telephone lines over to the PeterStar digital network.

Stages of PeterStar Development

PeterStar started its activity in 1992. That time the foundation of market economy and business undertakings was being laid, partnership relations were being established, and international business contacts were growing, all together requiring new quality standards for communication and service.

PeterStar became one of the first companies opened access to global telecommunication systems. The PeterStar network was built based on the then existing city infrastructure, allowing from the very outset offering the whole spectrum of quality telecommunication services on a city scale.

	2004

PeterStar launches communication network developing under modern PON (Passive Optical Networking) technology ensuring the most efficient and economical method of constructing large multiservice access networks

PeterStar opens its own Internet node in New York, securing thereby for itself the status of upper-level Internet provider

	2003

PeterStar is declared the best Russian enterprise (a laureate of the VII Russian Contest “Best Russian Enterprises”)

PeterStar participates in preparing for the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg

PeterStar installs and tests a new digital switch AXE-10 manufactured by the world leader Ericsson – the first new-generation exchange in Russia

PeterStar joins the International Wi-Fi Operators Alliance

Internet node modernization. The company opens a point of presence in London (London Exchange Point), installs highly productive routers Juniper (USA), and signs direct operator agreements with the first-level Internet Service Providers Telia and WorldCom (MCI)

Construction is launched of a new multiservice network “IP Backbone” to provide efficient solutions, unlimited data capabilities, and high-speed data exchange

International roaming under calling cards is opened
